Hillman’s Morgan Hardies, left, looks to pass to a teammate during a Class D district semifinal game on Wednesday. Defending her on the play are Posen’s Bev Bednarski (34) and Ashley Meyers.
Hincka got going early for Posen and gave Hillman's defense fits.
"In the first quarter, Posen looked to get the ball in to Korynn and her teammates got her the ball in positions where she could score," Hillman coach John Kuzewski said. "We didn't play the type of defense I was hoping we would play."
Anna Couture added 15 points for the Vikings (21-0).
Morgan Hardies led Hillman (9-11) with 11 points.
Posen jumped out to a 23-5 lead after one quarter and led 39-11 at the half. Posen extended its lead to 58-23 after three quarters.
"She got open and she scored on a lot of put-backs. When you get her the ball down low, she's basically unstoppable," Posen coach Karl Momrik said.
Though Hillman had a fair share of ups and downs this season, Kuzewski has a hopeful eye toward the future.
"I give Posen a lot of credit. There's a reason they're ranked. We ran into a buzzsaw," Kuzewski said. "We were more up and down than I'd like us to be and we'll still be pretty young, but we have some talent coming up."
After watching Rogers City upset Onaway in the first district semifinal, Momrik said the Vikings will be sure to come out focused on Friday.
"We're going to be focused to play basketball," Momrik said. "I've got to give Rogers City a lot of credit for what they did tonight."
