POSEN-The Posen boys basketball team ended 2012 on a good note.
The Vikings topped Presque Isle County rival Rogers City 64-30 on Friday during a Pink Out game in support of breast cancer awareness at Posen High School.
Nick Hincka led Posen (4-1, 2-1 North Star League) with his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 25 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
Travis Sharpe added 17 points.
Posen held a thin 7-6 lead after the first quarter, but outscored the Hurons 18-7 in the second period and 23-12 in the third quarter.
"Our press and man-to-man defense gave Rogers City a lot of trouble in the second and third quarters," Posen coach Steve Hentkowski said. "I thought Warren Beach did a good job with the pressure defense and the whole team did a good job offensively in the third and fourth quarters."
Posen ended the night with a 16-5 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Zach Hazel led the Hurons with 10 points.
