Jillian Marie Swan and Matthew Michael LaCross exchanged their wedding vows June 30, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Fr. Raymond Cotter and Msgr. Paul Russell officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Lynn Swan of Williamsburg. The groom is the son of Thomas and Mary Ann LaCross of Alpena.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Elizabeth Swan, and as matron of honor was her friend, Jenelle Thomas. Bridesmaids were Mary Emma LaCross, sister-in-law of the groom; Ashleigh Telman and Lauren Lassus, friends of the bride; Megan LaCross, sister-in-law of the groom; and Meghan Jones, cousin of the bride. Flower girl was Clare LaCross, niece of the groom.
Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Tyler Thornton. Groomsmen were Calvin Bueltel and Ryan Pattenaude, friends of the groom; Larry LaCross and John LaCross, brothers of the groom; and Daniel Swan and Benjamin Swan, brothers of the bride. Serving as ushers were Nicholas Klaserner and Bryan Wong.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at Grand Traverse Resort in Acme.
Jillian is a 2005 graduate of St. Francis High School and a 2009 graduate of St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Religious Studies. She is employed at Village Press in Traverse City as a managing editor.
Matthew is a 2006 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2009 graduate of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind. with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed by Cone Drive Operations, Inc., in Traverse City as an application engineer.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Seattle, Wash. They are residing in Traverse City.
