The Alcona football team had several players selected to the Huron Shores all-conference team, including six first-team selections.
Offensive lineman Tony Dubay, quarterback Cody Franklin, fullback Nathan Fettes, defensive end Austin Richardson, linebacker and punter Garrette Norling and defensive back Austin Cole all earned first-team honors.
Guards Joe Carrasco and Chad Haneckow, defensive back Josh Mead and Fettes at linebacker were named to the second-team.
Linebacker Eric Hampton and tight end Dawson Forsythe both earned honorable mentions.
Fettes broke the school record for career-rushing yards in the midst of a season where he gained 1180 yards on 115 carries and scored 11 touchdowns. He also came up with 97 stops on defense and 16 tackles for loss.
Franklin was 26-of-42 for 464 yards and eight touchdowns as a passer, but did more damage on the ground, carrying the call 70 times for 795 yards and seven scores.
Norling was a jack-of-all-trades for the Tigers, who went 6-2 in the regular season. Norling had 67 carries for 449 yards and four touchdowns; he had nine catches for 253 yards and four touchdowns and also led Alcona with 113 tackles. He also had 13 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and an interception.
Cole had 105 stops and two interceptions and Mead had 41 tackles and an interception. Hampton had 75 tackles and a fumble recovery. Richardson had 27 tackles and forced a fumble.
