Area residents have been invited to participate in a "Public Input Survey" through City Hall. Being a lifelong member of the community I decided I would contribute some of my thoughts and ideas.
However ... remembering what occurred at a city council meeting on May 7, of which I attended I was having mixed emotions responding to the survey.
While trying to speak at the podium and offer some input about the termination of Mr. Taylor, Mr. Karschnick leaned to the Mayor twice telling him, "to shut her up," (it's on tape) which the Mayor obeyed.
The only thing I was trying to convey to council was that the decisions they make affect all of the Alpena community, not just the city.
What is so threatening or wrong with this concept? So much for public input.
