ALPENA - The Alpena Community College Board of Trustees gave President Olin Joynton positive feedback and remarks during the evaluation portion of its regular board meeting. The trustees, however, met prior to the meeting in closed session to have an open dialogue on areas that could be strengthened along with positive aspects of Joynton's leadership.

"Under Joynton's leadership we are moving forward with more projects, programs, partnerships, and advancements on the Huron Shores Campus," Chair John Briggs said.

Briggs also said Joynton is dedicated to working hard on budgeting, management, and upgrades while striving for high rankings and stability.

"Overall, we had a really good evaluation, great in some areas ... He works well in the community and brings community needs back to us," Briggs said. "It was a good review and a good conversation. I look forward to doing it again."

Joynton thanked the board for the positive review, and said he appreciates the evaluation and examination of his performance at ACC.

"I always learn how to do something better from these conversations," Joynton said.
