SMITH, James R., 62, of Alpena died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2012, at home following a battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children, Mike (Jen), Brenda (Pat) Stanton, and Doug all of Alpena; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Hailee, Caisee, Krystal, Leigha, Anya, Dalton, Devin and Kaleb; a sister, Joanne (Robert) Kuchinicki of Alpena; and a brother, Bill (Mary Lou) of Alpena.
He is at McWilliams Funeral Home Alpena where friends may call on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday Oct. 20, 2012, at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service of remembrance at 10 a.m. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #2496 at 5 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
