View video and get the facts on GMO?foods

October 10, 2012
The Alpena News

Please go to YouTube.com and watch "Genetic Roulette" a video about the overwhelming dangers of Genetically Modified Organisms food - supposedly designed to allow weed killing chemicals to be sprayed directly on the crop or to allow the crop to contain an insecticide that will kill insects feed on it by blowing up their intestines supposedly without negative consequences for animals or us. About 70 percent of all processed foods now contain one or more of the nine GMO foods - Soy, Corn, Sugar from Sugar Beets, Canola Oil, Cottonseed oil, papaya, Zucchini, Crookneck Squash, Alfalfa.

Don't bother to complain to FDA or USDA , they have sanctioned GMO foods with little or no testing and are tied to chemical and Biotech companies.

Labeling GMO foods is Proposal 37 on the ballot in California. Monsanto, Dow, Dupont, Pepsi, Coke, Kellogg, General Mills, Hershey, Dean Foods, Ocean Spray and a couple dozen others are spending about $40,000,000 to defeat this issue about 10 times what supporters raised. Look them all up on line, tell them you are boycotting their products until they label or stop processing GMO foods. Ask or e-mail your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to watch the video. Talk/write/e-mail local and national media and see if they will provide coverage.

Ask the manager of your food stores to demand that food companies stop or label. Same with school officials, and restaurant owners. Ask farmers to stop planting GMO crops. Ask all to watch the video.

This will be a grassroots, social media fight against the giants. Please get involved. Non-GMO sales tripled last year. 6,000 foods now labeled non-GMO. Go to NonGMOshoppingguide.com, or buy Organic. If just 5 percent of us tell food companies we will not buy - they will stop using GMO foods.
