WEST BRANCH-The Alpena High School cross country teams Alpena High School Cross Country Teams competed in their second Big North Conference Jamboree of the season on Tuesday, with the boys team finishing fourth and the girls team finishing second.
Ethan Crowell ran a season-best time of 16:55 and finished fifth for the Wildcats, who finished fourth with 85 points, behind Traverse City Central (31), Traverse City West (70) and Gaylord (78).
Other finishers for Alpena were: RJ Centala (12th, 17:28); Jacob Benson (15th, 17:43); Eli Martin (25th, 18:11) and Telis Donajkowski (28th, 18:24).
Kelsey Lewis also ran a season best for the Wildcats, finishing sixth at 20:07. Alpena (75 points) finished behind Central (17) and ahead of West (89) and Cadillac (96).
Other finishers for the Alpena girls were: Racheal McDonald (11th, 20:22); Elaine Lowe (13th, 20:41); Leah Centala (30th, 22:08) and Christine Burke (36th, 22:34).
