Dislike for HUNT is not well supported

September 17, 2012
The Alpena News

In response to the article by Rev. Paul Peterson, of Harrisville, which was printed in the Alpena News (Sept. 8th). Mr. Peterson reported that he was told by P.I. Prosecutor Rick Steiger that H.U.N.T. is basically a Public Relations Team. As I remember Mr. Steiger had a problem with H.U.N.T. which may slant his opinion about the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team.

Mr. Peterson then attacked the article, claiming the last paragraph was "nothing but a campaign speech for H.U.N.T. I disagree; I saw it as praise by Prosecutor Weichel regarding H.U.N.T. doing their job.

Mr. Peterson also complained about the County Millage Vote being put on the ballot a second time to confirm the people's decision. I, with many others attended the board meeting concerning the return of the millage vote. Everyone had the opportunity to give their opinion of a second chance for the people to decide on the millage.

Mr. Peterson seemed to dislike the H.U.N.T. program, but his focus was on the millage dollars. Maybe that was a smoke screen (no pun intended) to take attention away from his business, which is (lo and behold) a Medical Marijuana provider. He also believes in the legalization of the use of marijuana for any purpose.
