HILLMAN - The Brush Creek Mill will host its fifth annual afternoon affair event, a tradition that coordinator Edith Lennox said showcases a variety of unique programs geared toward specific interests and tastes, along with homemade refreshments.
"We've hosted a lot of different programs in the past, including weddings, style of hats throughout the ages, and homemade vintage clothing," she said. " This year, the title of the program is, 'The Music of Our Lives.'"
Lennox said this year's program was written by Bob Tulgetske and narrated by Allan Grund, featuring the recorded music of "big bands" from the '40s and '50s era.
"This is something everyone can enjoy, it's part of our past, and it fits in with what we do here," she said. "We also have a reason for the fundraiser: we want to raise money to set aside for future landscaping."
This year's afternoon affair, "Music of Our Lives," will take place at the Brush Creek Mill on Tuesday at 2 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee at the door, but it includes homemade refreshments made by volunteers and board members for the program.
