TRAVERSE CITY The Alpena volleyball team had a rough night against Traverse City Central on Monday, losing all three games to the Trojans 15-25, 18-25 and 17-25.
Logan Myers had 19 digs for the Wildcats. Alie Sherwin had 13 digs and Ami Milligan had 17 assists.
The Wildcats are off until Sept 5 when they host the Alpena Quad.
They will return to Big North action at Traverse City West on September 11th.
BOYS TENNIS
Purol leads Wildcats in Cadillac.
CADILLAC-The Alpena boys tennis team had some strong showings at the Cadillac Invitational on Saturday.
Junior Abram Purol took first place in the number one singles flight, winning his first match with a third set 7-5 tie break and his second match 6-4, 6-2.
Also performing well was first doubles team Samyak Harsh and Noah Barney-Steinke, they finished second in the tournament for their flight, beating Caledonia 6-4, 6-4 and losing to Cadillac in a third-set tiebreak.
Competing teams Cadillac and Caledonia, which won first and second place overall respectively.
The boys team competes today at home against Traverse City Central at 2 p.m.
