Soon-to-be fifth- and sixth-graders at Alcona Community Schools participate in team building and motivational exercises at the ropes course behind Alpena Community College on Thursday as part of a new “Summer Safari” camp put on by the school and Alcona Health Center Tiger Extension. Instructor Kristin Benghauser said the objective of the day’s lesson was to encourage support and cooperation to accomplish goals as a team. “It’s to work together, to learn to trust others, safety, teamwork, just being able to work with all different kinds of people,” she said. “These might not be kids that would hang together in school, but here they’ll work together.”
