The annual Miss Posen Pageant, under the direction of Jan Misiak, is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Posen High School. The pageant precedes the Posen Potato Festival which will be held Sept. 7-9.
The new queen and her court will reign over the festival, as well as represent Posen at various other events throughout the upcoming year.
This year's opening number was choreographed by Sarah Morrison. Randy Idalski, Posen Chamber of Commerce president, will again be performing the duties of master of ceremonies. Judges for this year's pageant are Kelly Bullock, Gina Bey and Scott McLennan.
Julie Rouleau from Boldrey, Senchuk, Rouleau & Williams will serve as auditor.
This year, five young ladies will be vying for the title of Miss Posen 2012. Each contestant will be evaluated in individual interviews held earlier during the day of the pageant. During the pageant itself, they will be judged in the areas of coordination & fitness, talent and poise & appearance.

The new queen will succeed the reigning Miss Posen, Paige Lewandowski, daughter of Mark and Denise Lewandowski.
Admission for this year's event is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
