Besser Museum will celebrate Log Cabin Day this Saturday with a variety of festivities, including a log cabin model building event. Hours for the annual statewide event are from noon to 4 p.m.
Every model entry will receive a free family admission for Log Cabin Day and be displayed during the celebration. The log cabin models can be constructed using any kind of building materials and must be built on a 12x12-inch base. Those planning to construct a model are asked to contact the museum at 356-2202 by today to reserve a display space.
Other features of this year's Log Cabin Day are:
hosting her uncle's McKay cabin
Carvers Club demonstrations
Log Cabin Day is part of a statewide celebration that pays tribute to the rustic log structures of earlier times. As such, the museum's McKay cabin will be a special focus of the day's activities.
Admission is free for museum members. The fee for others is $12 for families, $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, ages 5 and under free. For more information, call the museum at 356-2202.
