Young people hold key to country’s fate

June 20, 2012
The Alpena News

This letter is directed to the young people of this country. I don't think you realize just how much influence you have to change this country's direction. I realize most younger people think anyone that is over 40 years old are old farts and don't know what they're talking about. The fact of the matter is anyone that is over 60 years of age were involved in building this country. Most of these people will never get credit for it. But now it's your turn you have the power with your computers and iPhones to get the rest of your generation involved in what is going to help and stabilize your future and if you just sit back and hope someone solves the problem you're in trouble because then you are the problem. You have to get after all these congressmen whoever they may be and tell them they're not going to have their job if they don't get their act together. It's your future and your children's future your fighting for. Tell them you don't want them supporting any company that doesn't have their companies in the states or hire American workers they will be voted out. It's time you get rid of the corruption that is in the government and demand these people be exposed for their own selfish greed.

Congress has done next to nothing the past three years to make other people look bad and the only thing they have done is hold back the progress of this country. So let's see if your generation is going to sit on your hands or get united and do something. Don't disappoint the people that died to make this country great they were your family members and neighbors and still are. Good luck.
