The 15U Alpena Summer Cats split their doubleheader with the Eastern U.P. Travelers on Saturday. Alpena lost game one, 3-1, then came from behind to win game two, 5-4.

Tim Atkinson started game one on the mound and suffered the loss, giving up three runs on one hit. Chris Modrzynski pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Alpena scored its only run on an RBI single by Jacob Kozlowski.

Modrzynski started game two and was relieved by Caleb Myers. The two pitchers combined to allow four runs on four hits.

Alpena trailed 4-2 in the final inning when Dylan Hoes led off, stole second, moved up on a fielder's choice then scored on an error by the second baseman.

Alpena had the bases loaded with one out when Dylan Tucker laid down a bunt with two strikes. Kozlowski scored easily from third and Dylan Glennie scored from second base after the play at first base.

The 15U Summer Cats travel to Bay City this weekend for a Magic's Tour Tournament.
