Flood Insurance issues for Maple Ridge Township. Township meeting to be held on June 19, 2012, at 7 p.m. to address the issues. If you have been notified that you are now required to buy flood insurance, you live in Maple Ridge Township, and have a home equity,please attend the meeting. I was informed by my mortgage company six months ago that I am required to purchase flood insurance. Since Maple Ridge Township does not belong to FEMA, I cannot purchase flood insurance. Therefore, the bank is charging me for their own flood insurance policy. They have now raised my house payment $550 a month to cover that insurance. Don't let this happen to you.
