The constant "right wing" stance of The Alpena News' editorial page is quite tiring. While one would like to think that all newspapers would provide a nice balance between the "right" and "left" views on various topics that is seldom the case. However in The News, the ultra-conservative bias is exceptionally obvious and disturbing. In the News today (5-16-12) the political cartoon is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Perhaps the editorial staff at The News feels that this area has more right-leaning readers and, in an attempt to please that imagined conservative audience, publishes overwhelmingly conservative editorial content. Be assured that there are many of us who share a somewhat more liberal view and would appreciate a more balanced approach to reporting.
