BOYNE CITY-The Hillman baseball team ended its regular season in the best way possible, sweeping Boyne City in a doubleheader on Friday, 5-1 and 4-3.
Ty Jones earned the win for the Tigers (15-18-1) in the opener, fanning 15, walking one and allowing one run on four hits in six innings.
Mason VanPamel and Kyle Henigan each went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Caleb Zimmer was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Jordon VanPamel pitched for Hillman in the nightcap, allowing three runs and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.
Zimmer and Gideon Mulka each had an RBI for the Tigers.
Hillman will play Wolverine in a predistrict game on Tuesday at Gaylord St. Mary.

BOYNE CITY-The Hillman softball team ended its regular season with a split on Friday against Boyne City.
Hillman lost the opener 1-0 and won the second game 5-0.
Amanda Kennard, Carissa Herrick, Jensen Tchorzynski, Arielle Barrie and Audrey Julka each went 2-for-3 in the second game. Herrick had a triple and Julka had a double. Rachael Mayes added a single for Hillman (28-7).
