The Alpena Community College softball team will hope to get the last laugh against Oakland this season.

The Lumberjacks (13-11) opened the season with two wins over the nationally-ranked Raiders but dropped two games against Oakland in their home finale last week.

The two teams will meet for a third time today at 4 p.m. at Bailey Park in Battle Creek for the beginning of the NJCAA playoffs.

In addition to getting a measure of revenge, ACC will also be looking for an overall boost. The Lumberjacks have lost their six games after starting the season 9-1.

ACC made the playoffs last season and went 1-2, losing their first game, winning their second one and dropping their third.

On the eve of their game, the Lumberjacks inked Alpena High pitcher Laura Lewis to a letter of intent to play beginning in the 2012-13 season.
