Colleen Ann Stark and Richard Alan Mestdagh exchanged their wedding vows Dec. 30, 2011 at The Chapel at St. John's in Plymouth. Rev. Edward A. Belczak officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Randolph and Patricia Stark of 431 Princeton, Alpena. The groom is the son of Joyce and Robert Tuck of Marshall and Roger Mestdagh of Homer.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Kara Sawarynski. Attending as maid of honor was her sister, Kaitlin Stark. Bridesmaids were Carrie Zuck, sister of the groom, and Lisa Hickok and Kelly Newhouse, friends of the bride. Serving as flower girl was Lainey Sawarynski, niece of the bride. Honorary flower girls were Hadley Sawarynski, niece of the bride, and Riley Zuck, niece of the groom. Attending the groom as best men were his friends, Dustin Landis and Paul Hinshaw. Groomsmen were Mark Anderson, Greg Wade and John Carter, all friends of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception honoring the newlyweds was held in The Grande Ballroom at The Inn of St. John's. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at Compari's on the Park in Plymouth.
Colleen is a 2001 graduate of Alpena High School and a 2006 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 2009 she received her Masters in Education from Marygrove College. She is employed as a second grade teacher in the Rochester Community School District and as an assistant professor at the graduate school at Madonna University.
Rick is a 1998 graduate of Homer High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Sports Management & Communication and Secondary Education. In 2010, he completed his Masters in K-12 Administration. He is employed at Livonia Franklin High School as an AP history, government and economics teacher.
The couple traveled to the island of St. Lucia for their honeymoon. They are residing at their new home, which was recently featured on House Hunters on HGTV, at 6095 Wellesley Drive in West Bloomfield.
