ROGERS CITY-The Rogers City baseball team earned two hard-fought wins against county rival Posen on Monday, beating the Vikings 2-1 and 6-3.
Chad Karsten won a pitching duel with Posen's Nathan Lenard in the opener, finishing with 10 strikeouts no walks while allowing just one hit in seven innings.
Lenard went 6 1/3 innings, striking out 13 and allowing four hits.

Karsten scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning after a suicide squeeze by Paul Wilbert.
Jerome Ciarkowski was 1-for-2 for Posen.
The Hurons (5-6) rallied in the second game, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Chris Peacock got the win for Rogers City, striking out five and allowing no hits in three innings.
Evan Lamb and Chad Karsten each went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Hurons.
Nick Hincka was 2-for-3 with three RBI for Posen.
Brandon Dietz took the loss for the Vikings and Ciarkowski allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts in relief.
ATLANTA-The visiting Tigers dropped baseball doubleheader with the Huskies on Monday, losing the first game 6-5 on an overthrow in the bottom of the ninth and losing the second game 2-0.
Ty Jones pitched for Hillman (5-9) in the opener, allowing five earned runs and three walks while striking out eight.
Mason VanPamel took the loss, allowing one run and one strikeout in three innings.
Gideon Mulka and Kyle Henigan each had hits for the Tigers and Jones was 1-for-5 with a two-run single.
Henigan took the loss in the second game, allowing two runs with three strikeouts and no walks.
Cory Keegan led Hillman at the plate, going 1-for-2.
Gaylord St. Mary 3-9
ONAWAY-The Onaway baseball team handed Gaylord St. Mary its first loss of the season and split a baseball doubleheader with the Snowbirds on Monday, winning the first game 5-3 and losing the nightcap 9-3.
Andrew Prow pitched Onaway (3-4) to a win in the opener, allowing one run and seven hits with four strikeouts in six innings.
Aaron LaLonde was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base and Justin Gedda was 2-for-2 with two RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
LaLonde led Onaway in the second game, going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. Gedda was 2-for-2 with a home run, three runs scored and a stolen base.
Onaway hosts Forest Area on Thursday.
