TAWAS-The Alpena girls soccer team rebounded from a tough loss on Tuesday and broke a three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over Tawas on Wednesday.
After a 0-0 tie at halftime, the Wildcats (2-3) got two second-half scores. The first came from Kaitlyn Kowalski with an assist from Emmy LaFleche.
Katie Brownell scored Alpena's other goal unassisted on a free kick.

"Last night we played very well in the first half, but we didn't play well in the second half," Alpena coach Tim Storch said. "Tonight was the opposite. We didn't play well in the first half, but turned things in the second half. It was good to see the girls respond to the challenge at halftime."
Emma Strong made one save and recorded her second shutout of the season.
Alpena host Petoskey tonight at 7 p.m.
