"Acts the 3 Man Show," a bold, action-packed and moving drama that highlights stories from the New Testament book of Acts, is coming to Word of Life Baptist Church.
Performances are planned for April 27-28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
The drama is an acting tour-de-force from three performers with MFA's in theatre and numerous TV credits among them including 24, ER, Lie to Me, House MD, Flashforward, Cold Case and The Shield. There is also an original score by award-winning composer Gustav Hoyer that includes world-winds instrumentalist Pedro Eustache, who is the featured artist on "The Passion of the Christ" soundtrack.
Brought to life will be the monumental events of the early church such as the stoning of Stephen, Peter's bold sermon at Pentecost, the conversion of Saul, the riot in Jerusalem when Paul is nearly killed for preaching Christ, the epic storm and shipwreck from Acts 27, Paul's trials before Nero and many other scenes.
Professional Los Angeles based actors and fellow believers Bryce Lenon, J.D. Jackson, and Vinicius Machado star in a full-length, three-man show. The drama completed its theatrical debut in Los Angeles in 2011 and was a resounding success. Now they are taking it on the road.
The show has gained a reputation for biblical accuracy and artistic excellence. The actors were invited to perform it for 1,500 pastors and church members at the 2012 Shepherds' Conference, the annual landmark event hosted by Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, Calif.
