Rachel Boyk and Matthew Gepford exchanged their wedding vows Aug. 20, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Greg McCallum officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Arnie and Betsy Boyk of Alpena. The groom is the son of Charles Gepford of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy Poff of Ft. Myers, Fla.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her cousin, Megan Davenport, and as maid of honor was her cousin, Sarah Wieschowski. Bridesmaids were Jessica Gepford, sister of the groom; Erika Zbytowski and Kursten Paczkowski, friends of the bride; and Crystal Wieschowski and Allison Fisher, cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Makeda Zbytowski, friend of the bride.
Attending the groom as best man was his cousin, Mark Reihl. Groomsmen were Adam Pohl, Jake Gepford, Chris Gepford and Paul Woodbury, cousins of the groom; and Ryan Boyk and Matthew Boyk, brothers of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at St. Anne's Parish Hall. A rehearsal dinner with a pig roast took place at the home of the bride's parents.
Rachel is a 2010 graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and will graduate in 2013 from Saginaw Valley State University with a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. She is employed by Health Source of Saginaw.
Matthew is a 2008 graduate of CMU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community and Commercial Outdoor Recreation. He is employed by Brookdale Senior Living in Davison.
The couple is planning an August 2012 honeymoon trip to San Francisco, Northern California and Seattle, Wash. They are residing in Lapeer.
