Call goes out for
Thunder Bay Theatre and the Association of Lifelong Learners are seeking support of the art community for participation in a Steel Magnolias Bloom in Spring silent auction to be held beginning April 21 through the final production of TBT's "Steel Magnolias" on May 6.
Works in all artistic media (such as paint, photography, fibers, wood, metal and clay) will be gratefully accepted for the silent auction. Donated art is requested to reflect one or more of the following topics: magnolias, steel, blooms (of any type) or spring.
Proceeds from the auction will equally benefit ALL and TBT in providing educational experiences and opportunities for people of all ages in Northeast Michigan. Annually, thousands of elementary age students to senior citizens attend the events of the two organizations.
Steel Magnolias Bloom in the Spring series events are as follows:
How artists benefit:
Through their generosity of donating an artwork for the auction, local artists will be able to make a difference in the community. They will make it possible for TBT and ALL to enrich the lives of people of all ages by sponsoring, promoting and encouraging educational experiences in theatre arts and a broad range of topics provided to lifelong learners.
Hundreds of people will view their artwork
Artist names and information will be shown with their work and on a placard in the theatre lobby.
Press releases will include the names of artists as participants.
Artists will be entered in a drawing with opportunity to win two free tickets to a TBT performance of their choice or a free year's membership in ALL (choose one or all of 160 educational programs and events.)
Artists are welcome to attend the April 2, April 21 and April 26 events where they will be recognized and celebrated. To attend the opening night theatre performance requires purchase of a ticket.
Donations will be gratefully accepted now through April 15. For any questions or information call Jodene at 595-2038 or Katie at 358-7207.
