With the regular season over, the girls basketball postseason is set to begin tonight as area team's will begin their quest for district titles at various sites.
Alpena will play at Traverse City Central tonight at 7 p.m. with the winner facing Marquette on Wednesday. On the other side of the bracket, Traverse City West and Petoskey will play tonight with the winner moving on to play Gaylord on Wednesday.
In Posen, the Vikings will be looking to defend their district crown. Posen will play the winner of tonight's Hillman/Hale matchup on Wednesday. Mio and Atlanta will also play tonight and the winner will play Fairview on Wednesday in the other semifinal.

At Rogers City, the host Hurons will open district play against Onaway tonight at 6 p.m. The winner will face either Gaylord St. Mary or Wolverine in the final on Friday at 6 p.m. The Snowbirds topped the Cardinals in last year's final.
Alcona barely missed a trip to the regional semifinal last season and will begin its quest to get there tonight at Tawas at 7 p.m. The winner plays Whittemore-Prescott on Wednesday at 7 p.m. On the other side of the bracket, Inland Lakes host Johannesburg-Lewiston tonight at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to play at Oscoda on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Posen was the farthest local team to advance last year, winning a district title and going on to lose to Gaylord St. Mary in a regional semifinal.
