Risa Laine Tritt and John Paul Florip, both of Fredericksburg, Va., exchanged their vows in a 1 p.m. ceremony Aug. 20, 2011 at Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford, Pa.
The bride is the daughter of Jim and Stephanie Tritt of Bedford, and the granddaughter of Rae and the late Boyd Arnold of Bedford, and Jacquie and the late James Tritt of Bedford. The groom is the son of Jim and Ann Florip of Alpena, and the grandson of Margaret and the late Jack Florip of Rogers City, and Gayle and the late Gerald Nowak of Alpena.
Rev. Doug Friant performed the ceremony, with readings by Amy Arnold, aunt of the bride, Rosie Tritt, aunt of the bride, and Thomas Florip, uncle and godfather of the groom. Wedding music was provided by organist Beth Hull and flautist Sue Cosgrove, friend of the bride and groom.
Lydia Tritt served as her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Kate Husted, Collyn Pala, Sarah Brandeburg, all friends of the bride, and Stephanie Florip and Bernie Florip, wives of the groom's brothers.
Daniel Florip served as his brother's best man. The groomsmen were Tom Florip, brother of the groom, Mark Meddaugh, Jason Cramer, Jeff Lasecki, all friends of the groom, and Dave Seigelman, fiance of the bride's sister.
Following the ceremony, the bride and groom were received by family and friends at the Altoona Heritage Discovery Center.
Risa graduated from Bedford High School in Bedford, Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and received her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg. She is currently a middle school science teacher in Fredericksburg.
John graduated from Alpena High School, the University of Michigan, and is currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program for Educational Leadership at the University of Mary Washington. He is currently a middle school social studies teacher in Fredericksburg.
