Jean F. Prevo and Joel E. Bauer, both of Alpena, announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nelson and Cynthia Prevo of Ossineke. The future groom is the son of Roger and Mary Jane Bauer of Alpena.
Jean is a 1994 graduate of Alpena High School and a 1997 graduate of Alpena Community College. She is employed by Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and is also a group exercise instructor at Bay Athletic Club.

Joel is a 1990 graduate of Alpena High School, a 1994 graduate of Michigan State University and a 2001 graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is a partner at Gillard, Bauer, Mazrum, Florip, Smigelski & Gulden, Attorneys at Law.
Joel and Jean will exchange their wedding vows Jan. 7, 2012, during an evening ceremony at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alpena.
