Rogers City Community Theatre will hold open auditions Nov. 29-30 from 7-9 p.m. for "Christmas Belles," the first production of the 2012 season. The auditions will take place at the Rogers City Theater, 257 N. Third. Needed are adults of various ages for the seven female and four male roles. There will be no rehearsals during Christmas and New Year. The show will be presented Jan. 20-22 and Jan. 27-29.
Christmas has come to the small town of Fayro, Texas. The three Futrelle sisters are not in a festive mood. One is pregnant with her second set of twins. Another is in jail for having inadvertently burned down half the town after being jilted.
The third is desperately trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb's Christmas Program from evolving into complete chaos. The ousted director of the previous 27 productions is ruthlessly trying to take over the show.
Santa Claus is passing a kidney stone. One of the shepherds needs his little red wagon in order to watch over his flock by night. Everyone is dropping like flies due to food poisoning from the Band Boosters' Pancake Supper.
When a long held family secret comes out, it seems that not even the Elvis impersonator at the manger can save the day. But, in true Futrelle fashion, the sisters pull it together for a show that will not soon be forgotten. Their hilarious holiday journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve will bring joy to your world.
Since Karl W. Heidemann is currently working on "RCT Pinafore," the second show of the season, and will be unavailable to help with set building for "Christmas Belles," the theatre is asking for community support to help build the set. Experience is appreciated but not necessary. People who are willing to paint also are needed.
