Betty and Wilbur Wildfong of 2815 M-65-N, Curran, celebrated their 70th anniversary with an open house held Oct. 2 at the Curran Township Hall. Sharing in the celebration were more than 100 guests, including the couple's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, friends and neighbors. Many shared favorite memories and events from Betty and Wilbur's 70 years of marriage together.
Mr. Wildfong and the former Betty Stemen were married Sept. 27, 1941, in Rochester. Their children are Connie (Terry) Brilinski of Midland, Willie (Annie) Wildfong of Alpena and Eli (Pat) Wildfong of Midland.
The couple has nine grandchildren: Barbara (Jeff) Grunder, Leslie (Dave) Benner, Kimberly (Jeff) Richards, Heidi (Tom) Purvis, Angela Wildfong, Lori (Joel) Walker, Natalie Wildfong, Leah (Brian) Kuehne and Holli (Tim) Carter. A grandchild, Bradley Brilinski, is deceased. They also have 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Wilbur retired from Besser Company. Betty was a housewife and self-employed.
