Nicole Vanderwyst and Bryan Stefan exchanged their wedding vows Sept. 25, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church.

The bride is the daughter of Marlene and Harold Vanderwyst, both of Alpena. Nicole is also the granddaughter of Richard and Evelyn Green. The groom is the son of Barb and Jeff Stefan of Clawson. Bryan is the grandson of Irene Stefan.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Natalie Schmaltz. Bridesmaids included Nora Woloszyk, cousin of the bride; Marianne Lossing and Amanda Meinart, friends of the bride; and sister-in-law Heather Stefan. Flower girls were nieces Viola Schmaltz, Clare Stefan and Allie Stefan.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Jeff Stefan. Groomsmen were Jim Trail, Al Lossing, Kevin Hefner and Neil Hanser, all friends of the groom. Ushers included the bride's brother, Nathan Vanderwyst, and brother-in-law, Stephen Schmaltz.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at the Alpena Civic Center. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at The Courtyard.

Nicole is a 2000 graduate of Alpena High School, a 2002 graduate of Alpena Community College, 2006 graduate of Ferris State University and a 2009 graduate of Walsh College. She is employed at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia as a nuclear medicine technologist. Bryan is a 1997 graduate of Clawson High School and a 2002 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. He is finishing his Master's Degree in Special Education at Wayne State University and is employed by Clawson Schools.

The couple planned to travel to Europe in June for their honeymoon. They reside in Clawson.
