Rebekah Elizabeth Brown and Robert Shaw Johnson exchanged their wedding vows March 26, 2011, at the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor. Pastor Nancy Lynn of Ann Arbor officiated the 5:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Betty Brown of Ossineke. The groom is the son of Debbie Houston of Flat Rock and Jim Johnson of Westland.

Sister-in-law, Rachael Muskiewicz, and friend, Jennifer Wilcox, presented special selected readings.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her friend, Heather Molnar. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Laura Johnson and Annie Harmel. Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Daniel Bierkamp. Groomsmen were Jeremy Johnston, friend of the groom, and Joshua Brown, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Ian Macguire, Samuel Kaufman and Greg Wilcox, friends of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at the Matthaei Auditorium with approximately 100 family members and friends. Friends and family traveled from Colorado, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Missouri to celebrate with the couple.

The groom's mother provided and made all of the flower arrangements and the bride's mother created a brownie tower for the wedding cake.

The couple took a short honeymoon in the Grand Rapids area and will be leaving in May for new jobs in Thailand, where they will be teaching English at the Assumption University in Bangkok.
