Elizabeth Jill Straley and Tyler John Buchinger exchanged their wedding vows July 31, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. James D. Erickson and Rev. Robert Mikkleson officiated the 3:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Janet Straley of Alpena. The groom is the son of Andrew and Stephanie Buchinger of Lachine.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Kate Straley. Heather Senske, cousin of the bride, attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanne Desermeau, Hayley Adams and Katelynn Kieliszewski, friends of the bride; and Katy Buchinger, sister of the groom. Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Mike Buchinger. Groomsmen were Ethan Buchinger, brother of the groom; Jon Straley, brother of the bride; Jake Straley, cousin of the bride; Brian Puls and Adam Meinzinger, friends of the groom. Lindsey Cooke, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. Jase Kollen, godson of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at K of C Hall in Alpena. The rehearsal dinner was at the Alpena Golf Course.
Elizabeth is a 2006 graduate of Alpena High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2010 from Lake Superior State University. She is employed by Sparrow Hospital in Lansing as a registered nurse. Tyler is a 2006 graduate of Alpena High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 2010 from Lake Superior State University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Fisheries at Michigan State University.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at a mountain side cabin in Hot Springs, N.C. They are residing in Haslett.
