Deborah Schoeneman and Joshua Paul Groban were married in February at the Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif. Judge Carol Isackson, of Superior Court in San Diego and the groom's aunt, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Sandra Schoeneman and Dr. Morris J. Schoeneman of Mamaroneck, N.Y. The bride's father, a pediatric nephrologist, is a professor of clinical pediatrics and the director of the division of pediatric nephrology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Her mother is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Mamaroneck.
The groom is a son of Deborah Isackson-Groban, formerly of Alpena, and Dr. Stephen Groban of Del Mar, Calif. He is the grandson of the now deceased Isadore Isackson, who practiced law in Alpena for more than 50 years. The groom's mother is an importer of folk art, jewelry and crafts in San Diego. His father, a psychiatrist, is an associate clinical professor of psychiatry and family practice at the University of California at San Diego Medical School.
Until Feb. 11, Deborah was a staff writer on the television show "90210" on the CW Television Network. She is a writer for "Girls," a new HBO series to start shooting in New York City in late April and to be shown early next year. She is the author of the novel "4% Famous" (Three Rivers Press, 2007). She graduated from Cornell.
Joshua works in Sacramento as the senior adviser of policy and appointments for Gov. Jerry Brown of California. He was the chief legal counsel for the governor's 2010 campaign. He graduated from Stanford and received a law degree cum laude from Harvard.
Gov. Brown and his wife, Anne Gust Brown, attended the nuptials.
