New Day Singers to give concert Friday

Thunder Bay Arts Council will present the New Day Singers in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 727 S. Second.

This 11-member group consists of vocalists from the Northeast Michigan community who always begin their concerts with "You are the New Day" by John David from the King's Singers group.

All of the music for this concert will be done a capella and will contain a wide variety of music in an assortment of tempos, language and arrangements which include madrigals, contemporary, sacred, spirituals and folk. Solos will be performed by Nancy Everett and Judy Case.

The New Day Singers is made up of members, front row left, Kaye Breckenridge, Jeanne Rasmussen, Judy Case, Rosalyn Boyer, Karen Thompson and Marge Ilsley, and back row, Roger Baumgardner, Chuck Winters, Nancy Everett, Gary Dawley and Dave Usher.

New Day Singers current members are: soprano Nancy Everett, Rosalyn Boyer and Karen Thompson; alto Marge Ilsley, Jeanne Rasmussen and Kaye Breckenridge; bass Roger Baumgardner, Chuck Winters and Gary Dawley; tenor Dave Usher and Judy Case.

This concert is presented to the public free of charge with donations appreciated.
