The Alpena County Library will host a piano concert Sunday at 2 p.m. The "Fire and Ice" concert will feature pianist Amy Truth, playing fiery dance music by Bela Bartok and an original composition.
Alpena High School student Trenton Goudy and Korean foreign exchange student Rosa Kim will perform pieces by Debussy and Chopin.
Truth said that the coming of spring was her inspiration for the program.

"Musical notes frozen on paper await being brought to life by the passion of a musician," Truth said. "This exciting concert will celebrate the coming of spring with an opportunity for the audience to participate in the music-making."
Truth has asked local restaurant owner Jimmy Chen to create an original ice sculpture on the theme of spring as well.
Library Director Eric Magness-Eubank said the library looks for opportunities to bring local musicians in on Sunday afternoons.
"These concerts are an opportunity to get out and enjoy some local music and visit the library at the same time," Magness-Eubank said. "Given how tight things are economically, our patrons really appreciate the wonderful music and the fact that the concerts are free."
Magness-Eubank notes that the library will also host the Akropolis Reed Quintet, featuring Alpena native Ryan Reynolds, on March 19 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The evening concert will be held at the Stanley Beck Auditorium at Alpena High School.
Sunday's concert is open to the public. For more information, call the library at 356-6188.
