Pamela Marie Furtaw and Nicholas Skowronek exchanged their wedding vows Oct. 2 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alpena. Father Gregory McCollum officiated the 2 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Linda Furtaw of 477 N. Franklin. The groom is the son of Patrick and Linda Skowronek of 903 Lockwood.
Attending the bride were maid of honor Melissa Helisek and bridesmaids Ashley Leow, Lindsey Hansen and Kelly Williams, all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Madeline Furtaw, god-daughter of the bride. Flower girls were Mikela Skowronek, niece of the groom, and Lilian Skowronek, daughter of the couple.
Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Joshua Gougeon. Groomsmen were Dan Leow, brother-in-law of the groom, Nate Skowronek, brother of the groom, and Ryan Spaulding, friend of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Thunder Bay Recreational Center in Alpena. A rehearsal dinner was held at JJ's.
Pamela is a 2000 graduate of Alpena High School and Alpena Community College. She is employed by Target as a pharmacy tech in Grand Rapids. Nick is a 2000 graduate of Alpena High School, Alpena Community College and Northern Michigan University in Marquette. He is employed at Amway and Barnes and Noble in Grand Rapids. The newlyweds are residing in Grandville.
