Lauren Kessler and John Paul Schott exchanged their wedding vows May 29 at the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. The Rev. James Erickson of Alpena officiated the 4 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Grant and Annemarie Kessler of 1380 Covington Lane, Alpena. The groom is the son of Paul and Ursula Schott of Mexico, Mo.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Julie Houpt. Bridesmaids were Kiersten Witt, Laura Finocchio and Sarah Petit, all friends of the bride. The groom's niece, Anya Mendonca, served as the flower girl.
Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Phillip Schott. Groomsmen were Grant Kessler, Jr., brother of the bride, Eron Senor, James McMinn and Jonathan Hanson, friends of the groom. The groom's nephews, Luke and Liam Mendonca, served as unity candle and ring bearers.
Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the River Camp complex of the River's Edge at the St. Louis Zoo. Pre-nuptial parties included a rehearsal dinner at Guido's on the Hill in St. Louis.
Lauren is a 2002 graduate of the American International School in Vienna, Austria. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 2006 and her master's degree in social work in 2008 from Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently employed as a social worker in St. Louis.
John Paul is a 2000 graduate of Mexico High School in Mexico, Mo., and a 2004 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology at Washington University in St. Louis.
The newlyweds are residing in St. Louis.
