Bill and Barbara Meredith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 7 at the Alpena Civic Center with dinner and dancing hosted by their children and spouses. Family and friends traveled from England, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio.
Mr. Meredith and the former Barbara Woloszyk were married Aug. 6, 1960, by Father Kalahar at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Alpena.
Attending the celebration were daughters Brenda Tennis, Tamara (Michael) Smith, Donna (Quero) DeSouza and Beth (Richard) Butler. The couple's grandchildren are Ryan Tennis (U.S. Coast Guard) stationed in Kodiak, Alaska, following a year of service in Iraq, Taylor Poulos, Ashley and Connor Bramble, Cole and Katie Butler, and Bailey and Summer DeSouza.
