Ken and Marge Nowak celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 31 at the Posen VFW Hall. There were 225 guests in attendance with family and friends traveling from Florida, Iowa, Indiana, New York, Minnesota and Detroit.
Ken and the former Marge Kamyszek were married July 30, 1960, at St. Casimir Church in Posen by Father Stephen Kozak. The couple has three children: Ron (Jean) of Rogers City, Anne (Al) Wirgau of Rogers City and Pam (John) Zelasko of Grand Rapids. They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Members of the original wedding party who shared in the anniversary celebration were maid of honor Luann Strzelecki of Posen, best man Richard Nowak of Presque Isle, bridesmaid Rita (Kamyszek) Prokopowicz of Burt Lake, groomsman John Kamyszek of Romeo, flower girl Denise (Belusar) Wenzel of Rogers City and ring bearer Arthur Kamyszek of Posen.
An heirloom photo quilt was presented to the couple by Judi (Nowak) Kaines. Wade Corpus of Alpena provided music during the social hour and dinner was catered by Karsten's Restaurant. An evening of visiting and dancing followed with music provided by John Zelasko Sr. of Trenton, John Zelasko of Grand Rapids, Eddie Siwiec of Dearborn and Andy Bojczuk of Buffalo, N.Y.
