Amanda Marie Aben and William Andrew Cowdin exchanged their wedding vows May 15 at Hawthorne Valley Country Club in Westland. Minister Tom Burdette officiated at the 5 p.m. outdoor, double-ring ceremony. Keith Vreeland, the groom's cousin, was on keyboard.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Susan Aben of Dearborn Heights. The groom is the son of Chris and Peggy Cowdin of Harrisville, formally of Royal Oak.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Andrea Jenkins, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Aben, sister of the bride; Denise McCallum and Stephanie Monk, friends of the bride; and Angela Mills, friend of the groom. The best man was Brian Timmerman, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were William Aben, brother of the bride; Dennis Herrmann, Brian Burzich and John Pineau, friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Christopher Matthew Zajac, nephew of the groom, and flower girl was Jane Elizabeth Zajac, niece of the groom. Kristy (Cowdin) Zajac and Sarah Aben recited the readings.

A reception immediately following was held at the Hawthorne Valley Country Club.

Amanda is a 1995 graduate of Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights and graduated with her Associate's Degree from Schoolcraft Community College in 1997. She is employed at J.C. Penny at Fairlane Town Center Mall. Bill graduated from Alcona High School in 1995 and received his Bachelor's Degree from Northwood University in 1999. He owns Cowdin Remodeling in Canton.

The couple spent their honeymoon on a European cruise. They reside in Canton.
