Rev. Martha Hartman of Alpena and Steve Stuart of Traverse City announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lynn Hartman and the late James Hartman of Alpena. Her fiance is the son of Chuck and Vicki Stuart of Burton.
Martha is a 1983 graduate of Alpena High School, a 1987 graduate of Capital University and a 1991 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, both of Columbus, Ohio. She is currently employed as spiritual care advisor for Hospice of Michigan.

Steve is a 1991 graduate of Burton High School. He is currently employed by Art Van Furniture. He will be making his home in Alpena, and will attend Alpena Community College to pursue a career in nursing.
The couple will exchange their wedding vows Aug. 7 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena.
