A pep assembly for the Alpena High School’s girls cross country team was held before team members boarded the bus Friday to leave for the state finals in Brooklyn. Over the season the girls, coached by Collin Riffert and Joy Bullis, won seven trophies. “The tenacity they have is just absolutely amazing,” Principal Matt Poli said, adding they’re a young team and their only going to get better.
