JOHNSTON, James E., 64 of 525 Linden Street Rogers City died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; two sons, Joshua (Bobra) of Harbor Springs, and Jason of Rogers City; one grandchild, Josephine; three brothers George (Nancy) of Lake Odessa, Gerald (Dorothy) of Petoskey and John (Nancy) of Harbor Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Brietzke Funeral Home where there will be a VFW memorial service at 7 p.m., the Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. followed by the parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home until the 2 p.m. mass of Christian burial with Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Full military honors will be accorded by VFW Post # 607 and burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
