Jessica L. McDonnell and Christopher R. Mitchell exchanged their wedding vows Sept. 5 at St. Helena's Episcopal Church in Boerne, Texas. Rev. Jay George officiated at the 5:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Howard and Nancy McDonnell of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Alpena. Jessica is the granddaughter of Shirley McDonald and Bill and Betty McDonnell, all of Alpena. The groom is the son of Janice Mitchell of Snyder, Texas.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Alyson McDonnell. Bridesmaids were Amanda Van Valkenburg, Lacey Kohnen and Pam Nelson, all friends of the bride. Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Bryce Boddie. Groomsmen were Gabe Huckaba, Matt Gelotti and Jeremy Perkins, all friends of the groom. The flower girl was Emma Billingsley, niece of the groom, and the ring bearer was Dylan Billingsley, nephew of the groom. Ushers included Ricky Post, Roscoe Bertsch and Truman Bertsch.

Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the couple was held at The Serengeti Resort in Bergheim, Texas. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's mother, Janice Mitchell.

The newlyweds will reside in San Antonio, Texas, where they are both employed at TMI, The Episcopal School of Texas.
