Antonia Maribel (Mary) Mejia and Jared John Kaiser exchanged their wedding vows April 25 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Herron. Pastor Leslie Nye officiated the 3:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Miguel and Alejandra Mejia of Delores, Peten, Guatemala. The groom is the son of Karen Kaiser of Alpena and Michael Kaiser of Herron.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was her friend, Maria Gonzolas. Bridesmaids were Alison Kaiser of Herron, sister-in-law of the groom, and Tamara Leeck of Alpena, aunt of the groom. Junior bridesmaids were Peyton Kaiser and Kennedy Kaiser of Herron, nieces of the groom.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Matthew Kaiser. Groomsmen were Dr. Melborne LeMieux of California and Mark Gilin of Alpena, both friends of the groom. Ushers were Jason Bies of Calumet and Chris Blackman of Clinton Township, both friends of the groom.

Baptized during Mary and Jared's wedding ceremony was Joel Harvey Kaiser, infant son of the bride and groom. Godparents were Maria and Luis Gonzolas of Delores, Peten, Guatemala.

Following the ceremony, a reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at Alpena Golf Club. The rehearsal dinner took place at the home of the groom's mother.

Jared is a 1996 graduate of Alpena High School, a 2001 graduate of Central Michigan University and a 003 graduate of Simmons College in Boston, Mass. He is employed by Samuel Adams Elementary School in East Boston, Mass., in special education - autism.

The couple is to reside in East Boston, Mass.
