Allan M. and Kathleen H. Trelfa of 7222 Smith Rd., Alpena, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 6 at the home of Dolores Ludlow of 12031 Napper Rd., Herron.
The couple's children are Brett and Melissa Trelfa of Louisville, Ky.; Kevin and Shannon Trelfa of Alpena; and Jeffrey and Rebecca Trelfa of Alpena. Their 13 grandchildren include, from the oldest, Bryan (currently serving in the U.S. Marines), Jacob, Hannah, Hilary, Zachory, Elizabeth, Katlyn, Nathaniel, Emily, Ella, Alayna, Jack and Lucas.
Allan's parents are the late William and Eva Trelfa. Kathleen's parents are Dolores Ludlow and the late Edward Roy.

The Rev. Sanford Wright wed the couple on Sept. 13, 1969, at the First Presbyterian Church of Alpena. Allan is retired from Besser Company and Trelfa Builders. Kathleen, a registered nurse and former director of Hospice of Alpena, continues to operate her business of Cabinetry on Wheels, along with her son Kevin Trelfa.
