Rebecca Lynn Purgiel and Terry Lee Souva exchanged their wedding vows May 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Father Patrick Maher officiated the 1 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara Purgiel of Rogers City and Chester Purgiel of Macomb Township. The groom is the son of Joe and Vicky Souva of Ossineke.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Michele Preston. Bridesmaids were Sonja Fiel and Jesse Lewandowski, both friends of the bride; Becky Meyer, sister of the groom; and Crystal Purgiel, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Amelia Durawa, cousin of the groom. The flower girl was Madilynn Meyer, niece of the groom.
Attending the groom as best man was friend, Scott Gagnon. Groomsmen were Jason Souva, brother of the groom; Chuck Purgiel, brother of the bride; Jamie Meyer, brother-in-law of the groom; and Nick Langlois, friend of the groom. Junior groomsman was Kyle Preston, nephew of the bride. The ring bearer was Colin Preston, nephew of the bride. Ushers were Adam Wong and Chad Kruczynski, both friends of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception honoring the newlyweds was held at the Posen Community Center. Pre-nuptial gatherings took place at the Alpena City Golf Course for the couple's rehearsal dinner.
Rebecca is employed as a certified pharmacy technician at LeFave Pharmacy. Terry is employed by Carmeuse Lime and Stone, Calcite Plant of Rogers City.
The couple traveled to Jamaica and spent their honeymoon at Sandals Dunn's River Resort. They are residing in Alpena.
